Essential™ is a complete vitamin and mineral supplement formulated by Mark DePaolo, DVM, to address the fundamental nutritional requirements your horse needs to attain optimal health. It is filled with essential ingredients such as L-Lysine, Biotin, Sulfur, Methionine, Brewer’s Yeast, Cobalt, Organic Selenium, Zinc and Vitamins A, B, D & E.

Lysine is included in a high enough concentration to help maintain a healthy immune system. This will allow for a better immune response to allergens, stress and disease. Biotin and Methionine combine with Lysine and Sulfur to assist with strengthening hooves, tendons and ligaments.

A large majority of the country does not have high enough levels of Selenium to meet the dietary requirements of horses. The organic Selenium contained in Essential™ is a much more bio-available form of Selenium than what is found in most equine supplements. Selenium absorption is increased by the inclusion of Vitamin E.  They are an important combination to support proper musculoskeletal health and a normal functioning neurologic system.

The four key electrolyte minerals (Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, and Potassium) have been added to boost hydration, allow for correct muscle function and increase digestive tract activity. This may help your horse avoid colic, tying up and ulcers. 

Brewer’s yeast is a key ingredient as it a great source of B vitamins. These aid in digestion and the immune system.  Brewer's yeast is also a terrific source of chromium, which supports proper regulation of blood sugar levels to maintain a healthy metabolism.

Instructions for Use:
Less than 750 pounds: ½ scoop twice daily
750-1200 pounds: 1 scoop twice daily
Greater than 1200 pounds: 1 1/2 scoops twice daily
